The VSystem approach to sustainability has many sides. In addition to environmental certification, as the firm travels a path to acquire environmental standard ISO:14001, is a series of environmental initiatives, from the decision to use cardboard packaging for shipments, to the company’s purified water dispenser that harvests water from humidity in the air, and even its Christmas greetings. And it is in this arena that VSystem has chosen to invest, actively involving both clients and collaborators with a focus on sustainability in its widest sense - social, financial, and environmental.
VSystem has identified the Treedom project as the ideal partner with which to achieve a new goal on its ESG pathway. Part of the 2023 Christmas gift comprised a tree that will help offset the carbon footprint of clients and collaborators but also raise awareness inside and outside company walls, encouraging more sustainable behaviour. The resulting VSystem forest now counts 80 trees and will continue to grow thanks to the contribution of those who, by participating and believing in the project, will adopt trees for themselves or as donations.
The Treedom project selects trees with a particular ability to absorb the CO2 in the atmosphere. These are planted in agricultural areas in developing nations, compensating for carbon emissions while also contributing to the local economy and its communities. The VSystem forest does not just represent an active response to the climate crisis, but also an exercise in collective awareness, as customers and the company itself become key players in an ongoing and conscious effort to manage and achieve the goal of decarbonisation.
The VSystem forest currently consists of 80 trees planted in five countries – Cameroon, Colombia, Ghana, Madagascar and Tanzania – and has already contributed to offsetting 51.83 tons of C02: https://www.treedom.net/en/organization/vsystem-5929
